Introduce HiMyTribe to your friends:

 

The simplest way is to go to the App Store using your iPhone or Ipod Touch and search for HiMyTribe.
At the bottom of the presentation page you’ll find a button “Tell a Friend”. Just press it and you can send a link to load and discover HiMyTribe to everyone in your address book.

 

Registration

 

Q: Can I have several HiMyTribe accounts on the same iPhone or iPod touch handset?

R: No, not at the moment

 

Q: What do I put in the “About me” field?

R: This is a space for introducing yourself to the public; just a phrase will suffice.

 

Q: What are the keywords for?

R: They define what particularly interests you, which may not be in the categories presented.
People sharing the same passions or interests can look for and find you directly through these keywords.

 

Your Profile

 

Q: Do I have to fill in my complete profile?

R: No; it is up to you to enter the information you wish to share, whether you use HiMyTribe for business or for social purposes.

 

Q: What is the difference between “About me” and “My Latest News”?

R: “About me” is seen by everybody.  “My Latest News” can only be viewed by your Tribe.

 

Search

 

Q: Can I see everybody around me without distinction?

R: Yes, simply search for “Everybody”.  At the moment, HiMyTribe presents the nearest 50 people.

 

Q: What do I do to find people with a specific profile?

R: Choose “Specific People” in the search
Then choose the characteristics you are interested in.

 

Q: Can the search criteria be combined?

R: Yes, so you can make very precise searches if you wish.

 

Messages

 

Q: By default all my messages are saved from one session to the next.  Can I change this?

R: You can choose whether or not to save the messages sent and received each time you connect to HiMyTribe.  This functionality is accessible via “Profile / Preferences / Save Messages”

 

Q: I would like to receive copies of the messages received on HiMyTribe to my email address. Is this possible?

R: Yes, you have the option of having a copy of your messages received sent to your email address. To activate this functionality, go to Profile / Preferences / My Messages by Email

 

Managing my Tribe

 

Q: I know the user name of one of my friends and would like to invite him directly to my Tribe. Is this possible?

R: Yes, by going to My Tribe / Actions, you can send a direct invitation

 

Q: I would like to introduce HiMyTribe to a friend who has an iPhone / iPod Touch.  Is there a function to manage this?

R: Yes, by going to My Tribe / Actions, you have the function “Introduce HiMyTribe”.  Simply fill in the email address and first name of your friend, enter your first name, and, if you would like to, add a note (giving your user name, for example).  Your friend will receive an invitation email.

 

Q: Can I send information to everybody in my Tribe?

R: Yes; in “My Tribe” select the field “What I am doing now” and enter a phrase. Your Tribe will instantly receive this information and will receive a notification.

 

Q: I want one or more Members of my Tribe to be unable to locate me.  Is this possible?

R: Yes, at any time and for each of the Members of your Tribe you can change the rights initially granted.
Simply go to My Tribe, select the Member / Action / Access Authorisation and redefine the access authorisations, then click Update.

 

Q: Can I see the name of one or more of my Members on the map?

R: Yes, simply click on the markers and the name and photo will appear.

 

Notifications and Alerts

 

Q: Do the HiMyTribe notifications work online and offline?

R: Both, by default.  HiMyTribe sends you notifications and alerts which work whether or not you are in the application.

 

Q: Can I activate or deactivate all HiMyTribe notifications?

R: Yes, in the iPhone’s Settings, you can decide what you want to receive as notifications (sounds, alerts, badges) for HiMyTribe.

 

Q: Can I activate or deactivate a particular notification?

R: Yes, you can act on all notifications individually.
These notifications are available in Profile / Preferences / Notifications

  • Messages received = alerts you upon receipt of a message
  • Invitations received = upon arrival of each new invitation
  • Invitations sent = upon each acceptance of an invitation you sent
  • Latest news of your Tribe = upon each change of the latest news of a member of your Tribe

 

Q: What is the “automatic search” notification for?

R: When activated, your last search is automatically executed every five minutes (whether or not you are in the application) and you reveive the number of people corresponding to your search (if greater than 0).

 

Note:

Your notifications will be deactivated if you do not use HiMyTribe for 3 consecutive days. To reactivate them, go to HiMyTribe, Profile, Notifications, and make your new selections.

 

Black list

 

Q: Can I remove someone from my black list?

R: Yes, go to Profile / Manage Black list and select the people to remove from your blacklist.
